LB studied and researched via

When he had enough dough, he told Doc H he was ready.

The boys wanted to finish their project, so we compromised on delivery.
They worked diligently. They worked fast.
Before we knew it, LB couldn't contain his excitement

He was super excited as the time came to power up his super computer.
But, LB had no monitor, so he had to link it up to our TV.
In our family room we all watched,
waiting for LB's Franken-puter to come to life.

Then, something happened. An odd sort of noise was heard.

and then...
and...

LOL. What was he trying to achieve. The best computer of all time?
ReplyDeleteHe wanted the fastest and most powerful computer in the house. Better and faster than his father's. And so the male competitiveness begins.
DeleteAww, poor thing! Does he know what happened? Doc H should totally give him the $ to try again, b/c I feel like building a computer is a boy rite of passage!
ReplyDeleteThe Lawyer would have been all over this project, by the way--techie nerd that he is.
The power supply was defective (Uhhh, yeah....I could even figure that out!). Doc H was able to exchange it for another one. He got a more POWERFUL one.
DeleteMy husband builds computers and, I have to admit, I'm a little nervous when he first turns them on. Maybe it's because I have no clue what he's doing. Maybe it has something to do with the picture of my laptop COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED (screen and all) he sent me the first time I let him fix it for me. Either way, there's a bit of nervousness that presents itself, despite his perfect track record with the builds.
ReplyDeleteAfter this, I think I'll continue taking my computer to the professionals. :(
DeleteLOL- that was a GREAT story!!! I really needed a good laugh today. on the flipside... I hope your boy gets his computer; you know, one that works.
ReplyDeleteIt was SOOOOO FUNNY!!! Doc H and I are still laughing about it....DAYS later!!
DeleteLOL so funny!
ReplyDeleteOh, man...I wish I had it on video!
DeleteLOL! Love the use of images! Poor LB. Does he have to save up for a replacement or does he get some pity cash for a rebuild?
ReplyDeleteNo, Doc H was able to return the defective power supply and came home with a new one. All is good and in working order now. Thank goodness. I thought LB was going to cry. I could tell he was holding back the tears, but we all couldn't help but laugh. It was just totally over the top, pee you pants, funny!
DeleteI think that video was the best part of my day. Hilarious! I can't believe the kid had the guts to do that.
ReplyDeleteAlso loved the post. :)
Love it! You're too much. Poor, poor guy. All those dollar bills down the drain!
ReplyDeleteNo, it worked out. Exchanged the defective part and all is working now.
DeleteBahhahaha poor LB!
ReplyDeleteI know!!!! :)
DeleteI want to know what was wrong! I want the happy ending for LB.
ReplyDeleteHe got his happy ending. My husband was able to exchange the defective power supply. The second time around, it powered up beautifully and without incident or need for a fire extinguisher.
DeleteThat video was too funny.
ReplyDeleteThat kid is a kick!
