In his absence, D2 has excelled in school and her sport. She has even taken some classes at the local community college to bolster her college applications. She is eighteen now and will begin college in the Fall.
D2 has announced her aspirations of becoming a surgeon. I know Doc H would love to have one of the kids follow in his footsteps. Who knows if her dream will become a reality. Despite her tenacity, and work ethic, medical school is a hard, rough road.
However, Doc H and I are certain of one thing. The Beau Hunk would NEVER be able to survive medical school, residency, and fellowship. D2 has the personality to withstand the hardships and perservere, but we are certain the Beau Hunk wouldn't be able to survive the neglect every med school SO/spouse experiences. He is just to into himself for that type of life. While he knows how to wear a supporter, he doesn't know how to be a supporter. He'll never survive the med school journey.
So, we have decided to take a back seat and let this run it course. We are hoping he won't even be able to make it through undergrad.

I'm loving the Beau Hunk saga. Stopping by for MM from homegrown in ky.
ReplyDeleteSo great to have a new blogger on board!! Welcome! Look forward to getting to know you!
DeleteI think you are right, I don't think he will survive undergrad let alone medical school. I am convinced that most men are more needy than women:-) - Did you mean to turn word verification back on?
ReplyDeleteEspecially him!
DeleteWait, I can read - just saw the explanation. That's a bummer, hope spam isn't contagious.
ReplyDeleteI hope not. It became over whelming and it was just on one post... very weird. I'm going to turn it off again in a week and see what happens. Hopefully, they'll be discouraged by then and leave me alone again.
DeleteHey ^.^ Stopping by for MM! I am new here but I did read back about Beau Hunk so I knew what you were talking about. I have a sister going to college this Fall as well, she is so excited! :)
ReplyDeleteSo happy to have you! Welcome to our fun group!!!
DeleteGreat to be a part of the MMH!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Great to have you back on the grid!!
DeleteNew reader :)
ReplyDeleteBeau Hunk is hilarious from an outsider's perspective. You and Doc H have my sympathies though.
As the friend of someone who currently dates an ex-Marine, I can tell you that the ones I've interacted with/heard about do not grow up during their time in service :/
I hope D2 finds a nice young man in college. One who wears nice button-up shirts and slacks for Thanksgiving dinners.
I sure hope she does. I just think she deserves someone better.
DeleteThanks so much for another awesome Medical Mondays!
ReplyDeleteIf D2 is anything like me (and her decision to pursue medicine and the fact that you believe she has the intelligence and determination tells me that she may be similar), then rest assured that it only took a few months of college and recognizing all the other, better options out there before I ditched my "Beau Hunk" of sorts.
...in the meantime, I'm going to keep enjoying the stories. :)
It's just a matter of time. It has to be.
DeleteI love that you enjoy the stories. I'll admit... I would too, especially if they were about someone else's daughter. ;)
I'm a new reader! I found the link up via In Residence blog and am excited to be a part of it :)
ReplyDeleteSo happy to have someone new to link up with!!! That's what I love about Med Monday!
DeleteAwwww. I'm so proud of D2 for dreaming high regarding her future career. Hope that demonstrates that her good judgment more than her choice of a bf!!
ReplyDeleteFrom your lips to God's ears!!!
DeleteThe hardest thing for me as a parent is to let things run their course. I always want to jump in there--which can be a disaster. You are so smart to do that where this is concerned, but GOSH it's hard!!
ReplyDeleteI'd rather drag my tongue across the bottom of a bird cage!
