We are plowing through our second start-up journey. Doc H birthed this bio tech device via a doodle. He then carved thedoodle out of foam.
We brought engineers on board.
Prototypes were designed.
Prototype #1 was manufactured.
Prototype #1 was a fail, but it was close.
The engineers tinkered and tweaked.
Prototype #2 was manufactured.
Prototype #2 was put to the test.
And you know what??
IT WORKED!!! It really, really WORKED!!
So, what am I doing, now?
I'm shopping for veins.
Yes... you know you're a surgeon's wife when you find yourself shopping for veins with the same excitement and enthusiasm as if you were shopping for a new pair of Choos!

Wow congrats, where do you find veins? Amazon? Maybe Etsy?
ReplyDeleteRight now, I'm going with "Butchers R Us". ;)
DeleteOk, that sounds really exciting! I have some veins I would be willing to sell for the right price:-)
ReplyDeleteUm... No human trials yet, but I'll keep you in mind for the future. ;)
DeleteCongrats!! Shopping for veins?! I'm with Elle... where do you find them??!!
ReplyDeleteIf "Butchers R Us" doesn't pan out, I'll try the med school. We could easily piggy-back off another study.
DeleteI think I'd still prefer the Choo shopping but you are right...I can see shopping for veins a close second!! Good luck :)
ReplyDeleteNot when it has the potential to pay for college tuition!!!
DeleteHow exciting! My husband talks about medical-related business ideas every now and then and I tell him I can't even think about that until he's finished training and we're settled! You're a good wife for being so supportive.
ReplyDeleteIt has nothing to do with being a good wife, but thank you! It has more with wanting to be able to finance 4 kids' college tuition. :)
DeleteThat is very interesting! My man is in internal medicine, a hospitalist. I'm a new follower, and I look forward to reading your posts and comparing notes. ;)

Great to have you onboard! Welcome!
DeleteYou could also shop where they find standardized patients. I saw an ad for it once at my university; they pay $10/hr for you to be a standardized patient. I was like... uh, no. I spend enough time being a patient. You would have to pay me WAY more to spend any more time being a patient. But you never know... they seem to find ample people who are willing to be poked and prodded!!
ReplyDeleteJust a thought.

That would be okay, if we were FDA approved, but we're not, so we need cadaver veins. I wouldn't be giving up my own veins at this point for this project! :)
DeleteI might have to go Google this - where to find veins. Custom made? This is awesome.
ReplyDeleteHa! I actually did Google it.
DeleteInteresting post.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from SITS.
Thanks for visiting!
DeleteHaha, that's great! I recently found out there is mail-order gum tissue (as in the gums that hold your teeth to your jaw.) Happy Sharefest!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what you can find online!
DeleteSo exciting! Good luck! Good veins are hard to find! ;)-The Dose Girls
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!
DeleteMy life suddenly seems... not as interesting as it did five minutes ago. Shopping for veins? Well, someone's gotta do it.
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks for making me laugh!
