I logged on today and noticed I lost a follower.
Oops.
I'll admit. A year ago, I would've crawled into bed, huddled into the fetal position, and sucked Doc H's famous margaritas from the decade old sippy cup I hide in the deep recesses of my kitchen cabinets for just such an occasion.
That was then, this is now.
A year later, I realize the numbers are not what make or break a blog or blogger.
It's the relationships you forge...
The support you receive...
The support you offer others...
It's not about the numbers.
So, if you find yourself consumed by the numbers, let it go.
Let go of the numbers.
Here Here!
ReplyDeleteLove you Emma! Throw the sippy cup away:-)
ReplyDeletegood advice!
ReplyDeleteYou're awesome! It's their loss :)
ReplyDeletegood advice. and besides, you gained me a week or so ago! =)
ReplyDeleteWeird timing as I was just thinking about deleting my blog. It's new and I have not made any connections at all. It's too time consuming. I don't feel I offer anything, although that wasn't really the intention. I look forward to reading yours. You aren't afraid of saying things that a lot of people just think :) I will still be following!
ReplyDeleteIf you enjoy blogging you should continue! I tried emailing you, but you are a "no-reply" blogger. Email me at yourdoctorswife@gmail.com. I'd love to discuss this further with you. :)
DeleteThanks, everyone! You're all too kind!
ReplyDeleteYou're awesome. Don't worry about what other's think. I just had a shift in friendships. When one door closes 10 more open....at least that's how it works for me=) Keep blogging and being honest. I often look forward to reading your entries. You are talented and wonderful! XOXO - An admirer :)
ReplyDeleteI'm blushing ;) Thank you for your encouragement!
DeleteI don't worry about my numbers - they've never gotten high enough to really care.
ReplyDeletei love this post - very timely for me! i just logged in and noticed that i'd lost a couple of facebook fans. it's tough! but you are right - it's about the connections, and if those people were not connecting with me & vice versa, then its OK to let them go.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome!! I noticed a drop off a reader last week and did feel sad for a few minutes. I kept thinking... what I am doing wrong? What did I change? But... then I realized it doesn't matter!! I blog for me and not for that silly person who doesn't want to be my friend anymore!
ReplyDeleteIf that was an rss follower, then it was probably me. I just recently migrated away from google bc you know they're shutting down google reader in a few months, right? So... I'm trying out other readers. In which case, you didn't lose a follower at all. Just a theory.
